Brings together the work of five artists from Omaha and Mexico City. Employing a wide range of production skills and representational formats, Maritza Estrada, El Pinche Barrendero, Sonia Madrigal, Obed Sanchez-Liborio, and Marcia Santos cross, criticize, and question the visible and invisible boundaries that shape notions of belonging and what it means to be in, of, or from a place under the imperial condition.

Serves as a metaphysical counterpoint to the political preoccupations of Desde Afuera. Articulating borders as spaces where seen and unseen histories collide, Relámpago uses a largely symbolic visual lexicon in works on paper and ceramic vessels to remake and reimagine pre-colonial cultural traditions.
By centering the practice of exchange in its work, Fortuna also navigates the bureaucratic regulation of migratory artist networks between Omaha and Mexico City. These companion exhibitions are organized in direct response to nationalist policies and agendas that obstruct and obfuscate open borders of exchange.

Mezclando conceptos en torno a la agricultura, la tecnología, la migración y el cuerpo, esta exposición busca formar una conversación visual entre artistas de Omaha y México.
Fortuna plantea esta idea curatorial como una forma de unir a artistas que comparten una preocupación mutua por el pasado y el futuro de este planeta, por los cuerpos marginados en movimiento, y que reconocen que la soberanía alimentaria y los derechos sobre la tierra son elementos esenciales para un futuro sostenible. Con el apoyo de Populous Fund via Union for Contemporary Art @theunionomaha y PACE. .

Una de las aproximaciones que ha delineado la configuración del programa de este año, ha sido el plantearlo desde las articulaciones históricas e interdisciplinarias que le han dado forma, así como pensar en el montaje fotográfico como discurso. En este sentido, en esta ocasión indagaremos acerca de sus vínculos con el arte, escritura, historia, archivos, bibliotecas e investigación académica.
